Giving Back to the Community
At CHASENBOSCOLO, we proudly share our time and resources to support charitable initiatives and provide professional mentoring opportunities in our community. These efforts benefit people in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C, communities that we serve.
CHASENBOSCOLO has a long history of caring for our community. Over the years, we’ve donated thousands of dollars and countless hours to local charities and initiatives. We proudly support the following organizations and community causes. We know how important it is to give back to our community, and we make it our priority to help those in need by donating to local charities and participating in nonprofit events.
CHASENBOSCOLO teamed up to prepare a home-cooked meal for families at Ronald McDonald House. Along with a great meal, CHASENBOSCOLO donated 85 toys to the families for the holiday season.
City of Falls Church
CHASENBOSCOLO sponsored the 32nd Annual City of Falls Church Memorial Day Parade and Festival. The organization wrote a letter expressing their gratitude and appreciation for our help in making the event a success.
American Cancer Society—The Society
CHASENBOSCOLO was recognized by the South Atlantic Division staff and volunteers as a member of The Society—an elite group of the American Cancer Society’s most dedicated supporters.
Kids’ Chance of Maryland, Inc. Ocean City 1k Fun Run/Walk
CHASENBOSCOLO team members proudly participated in this fun run/walk supporting financial scholarships for children of severely or fatally injured workers.
Chris Falcon, Natalie Greer, Erin Edger and Karen Coca participated in the Warrior Dash–an extreme 5 to 6K race with obstacles, including jumping over fire and crawling through mud with barbed wire hung overhead. Proceeds benefited St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
American Cancer Society – Relay for Life
David Falcon, Ben Boscolo and Ben’s family participated in Relay For Life, a 24-hour fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life remembers lost loved ones, celebrates the lives of people who have battled cancer and helps survivors and their friends and families fight back against the disease.
Southern Maryland Food Bank
The firm collected 10 boxes of food for the Southern Maryland Food Bank, a local resource center serving those at risk of going hungry in the southern Maryland area.
Habitat For Humanity
In July 2011, Tom Teodori and his son took part in building two homes for Habitat for Humanity, an international, non-governmental, nonprofit organization devoted to building “simple, decent and affordable” housing.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving
We donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for every photo our fans posted of their moms on our Facebook wall. MADD is a nonprofit organization that seeks to stop drunk driving, support those affected by drunk driving, prevent underage drinking and push for stricter alcohol policy.
Neighbors Foundation Operation Care Package 5k
Ben Boscolo was very excited to participate in the Neighbors Foundation Operation Care Package 5k. The Neighbors Foundation sends thousands of care packages to troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Funds raised from the event cover shipping and handling for packages sent overseas.
Maryland Brain Injury Association
Our firm provided financial support to the Eat a Peach Challenge Bike Ride for the Maryland Brain Injury Association. The family-friendly 10K bike ride benefited care and research for traumatic brain injury.
American Cancer Society
On behalf of our employees, we donated funds to the American Cancer Society, an organization committed to saving lives and creating a world with less cancer.
American Red Cross
At the end of 2009, we offered $3,000 to be designated to charities of our employees’ choosing, including American Red Cross earthquake relief in Haiti.
Our firm sponsored a mother and her two children at Arden House by donating wrapped gifts and gift cards for Christmas. Arden House is a domestic violence safe house, and we were happy to help this family have a wonderful Christmas.
Kids’ Chance of Maryland
In 2009, we designated $3,000 to be donated to charities of our employees’ choice, including Kids’ Chance of Maryland, which provides an opportunity for children of workers disabled by on-the-job injuries in Maryland to pursue their educations, reach their goals and fulfill their dreams for the future.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society
We donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which promotes research, educates, advocates on issues relating to multiple sclerosis (MS) and organizes a wide range of programs for those living with MS.
(SOME) So Others Might Eat
Through the So Others Might Eat (SOME) program, the Boscolo family sponsored a family in Mississippi that had suffered the traumatic effects of a tornado. SOME is a nonprofit organization that provides food, clothing and healthcare services to the poor. The Boscolo family sent the family donations throughout the year.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
At the request of our employees, we donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on children’s catastrophic diseases.
Straight Ahead Ministries
In 2009, we asked our employees what charities they would like us to financially support. One was Straight Ahead Ministries, which offers structure and support to juveniles.
The Box Project
We donated funds to The Box Project, a national, nonprofit organization that matches volunteer sponsors from across the United States with recipient families living in rural poverty in America.
American Diabetes Association Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes
CHASENBOSCOLO was excited to participate in the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. The Step Out walk is the main fundraising walk for the American Diabetes Association.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night Leukemia Walk
Ben Boscolo was happy to participate in the Light the Night Walk, an annual fundraising event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which benefits lifesaving research for people battling blood cancers.
American Heart Association
Our law firm has a Valentine’s Day tradition of selling “candy grams” to benefit our local chapter of the American Heart Association. For just a dollar, employees can purchase a Valentine’s Day card and a piece of candy for their co-workers. All proceeds are donated to the American Heart Association.
Springhill Lake Elementary
We donated 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to Springhill Lake Elementary to provide students with the resources they need to be “Committed to Excellence.”
Graham Road Elementary
CHASENBOSCOLO donated 50 backpacks filled with school supplies to help children at Graham Road Elementary.
Thomas Johnson Middle School
During a program called “Real Women Read, Real Women Talk,” Jessica Bhagan presented a rendition of the poem “Still I Rise” by Maya Angelou and spoke to the girls at Thomas Johnson Middle School about what the poem meant to her, and how she has overcome various challenges in her life. The program paired professional women, including attorneys, doctors, engineers and politicians, with middle school girls for a poetry reading and discussion.
Lyn and Barry Chasen Fund Scholarship
Established in 1990, the Lyn and Barry Chasen Fund Scholarship is awarded to graduate students or third or fourth year undergraduate students at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
ORT America – Whiskey Creek Tournament
CHASENBOSCOLO donated funds to the ORT America Whiskey Creek Golf Tournament, where proceeds benefitted schools and training programs for the appreciation and understanding of Jewish traditions.
We are happy to support the Bullis School, an independent, nondenominational, co-educational college preparatory day school for grades 3 to 12.
DeMatha Catholic High School
CHASENBOSCOLO gladly supports the DeMatha Catholic High School hockey team. Located in Hyattsville, Maryland, DeMatha Catholic High School is a four-year Catholic high school for young men known for its academic achievement and commitment to music, the arts, service and athletics.
Lime Kiln Middle School
Our firm supports the children at Lime Kiln Middle School in Fulton, Maryland.
Sherwood High School
CHASENBOSCOLO happily supports the soccer and fall theater programs at Sherwood High School in Sandy Spring, Maryland.
J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association
Jessica Bhagan donated more than 50 hours for the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association Annual Scholarship Dinner. The association is committed to legal excellence, community service and the advancement of African-American minorities in the legal profession.
Virginia Trial Lawyers Association
Our firm was a conference reception sponsor for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, an organization dedicated to promoting professionalism within the trial bar, enhancing the competency of trial lawyers, and protecting and preserving the liberties, rights and benefits of an efficient and constitutionally sound judicial system.
American Cancer Society—The Society

Whitman-Walker Clinic AIDS Walk
The Whitman-Walker Clinic AIDS Walk Washington is a fundraising walk and 5K timed run benefiting and produced by Whitman-Walker Health, a nonprofit community health center in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with a special expertise in HIV/AIDS health care and LGBT health care.
Parkinson Golf Classic Hole Sponsor
Ben Boscolo sponsored a hole at the 2009 Parkinson Golf Classic, presented by The Parkinson Council. The tournament raises funds for research, education, outreach, programs and services for people with Parkinson’s and their families.
Professional Mentoring and Education
Our attorneys often lecture at community events, seminars, conferences and classes. We are proactive and excited about helping to educate the community.
World of Work: Reservoir High School
Tom participated in the World of Work day at Reservoir High School. As part of their graduation requirement, 11th grade students participate in a simulated job interview. The interviews prepare students for presenting themselves for summer jobs and or college admission. More than 340 students were interviewed. Tom enjoyed interviewing and mentoring the young students.
