DC Woman Injured By Exploding Toilet

A Washington, D.C. woman was injured on Monday when a toilet she was using exploded, causing her to receive severe injuries.
NBC-Washington reported the accident happened in the ladies room in the General Services Administration (GSA) building located in southwest D.C on the corner of 7th and D Street. The woman was using the restroom when the toilet suddenly exploded. D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and later said that the woman was “seriously hurt.” The cause of the explosion is under investigation at this time.
9 News states that shortly after the accident GSA, employees in the building were sent a memo saying, “DO NOT flush toilets or use any domestic water. Due to a mechanical failure, there is high air pressure in the domestic water system that resulted in damage to the toilets. The engineering staff is working to correct the issue. We will announce when the issue is resolved.”
